Greetings From Hong Kong!

David here ...  Yes, you read that right - we are in Hong Kong ...  Not where we wanted to be (or planned to be) at this point in the journey, but this is a journey and things don't always go according to our plans :>)  Our flight from Chicago to Hong Kong was delayed out of Chicago 2.5 hours (which means we got to spend 6.5 hours at O'Hare today; for the most part, Hannah did great!).  Unfortunately, our window for connecting with our flight from Hong Kong to Guangzhou was, you guessed it, 2.5 hours; which means we missed our flight to Guangzhou ...  So, United has put us up in the Airport Regal Hotel for the night and re-booked our flight to Guangzhou for in the morning - at 8:00, sigh ...  So, instead of a leisurely morning at the Pullman in Guangzhou, we will rush out of the Regal around 6:30 AM so we can go though immigration and get to our flight, then spend 4 lovely hours at the Guangzhou airport ...  United has supposedly intercepted our bags and will re-book them for us into Guangzhou in the morning - I suppose this is a courtesy (not having to deal with all of our luggage to and from the Hotel and checking-in in the morning), but that means we also don't have any of our luggage for this evening.  Lois and Hannah were smart and packed pajamas and a change of clothes in their carry-on.  Papa?  Not so smart ...

Hannah did great on the long flight from Chicago, especially considering the fact that she endured 6.5 hours at O'Hare (and being rudely awoken at 3:30 in the morning to start the day).  Of course she finally fell asleep in my lap about 30 minutes prior to us boarding our flight to Hong Kong ...  She is a trooper though and is very excited to be in China (well, almost China).  We are very proud of Hannah, and she has provided us with quite a few laughs on the way.  She has said "weeeeeee" everytime we have taken off (as well as "this is fun", "are we in the air yet?" and many more things I just can't remember).  She also didn't have any problems on the flights - in fact, she slept for 9 hours on theway to ong Kong; quite a bit more than did her Mama and Papa ...  She keeps saying "I can't wait to meet my brother!" :>)  And neither can Lois and I :>)  In the end we will jump through all the hoops and do whatever we have to, to bring our son home.

I could of course be wrong, but it just seems to Lois and I that there have been several "harassing" things that have happened recently; I know we have an enemy that is dead-set against famlies.  So, if you have a moment and could offer up a prayer for us to the Father, we would really appreciate it.

Regardless of how where our journey takes us these next few weeks, of this I am sure, God is good!  And 2.5 weeks from now we will leave Hong Kong with our son :>)

We did pray for y'all last night ( Tues). We overnighted at the Regal our last gotcha trip. We needed the rest.
At least you're on the "right" side of the world!
So glad that Hannah slept on the HK leg. Glad that she's handling it well.
I can't wait to see her brother either.

Hi, Lois!!! I had forgotten exactly when you were leaving for China. Roger wanted me to call you tomorrow and ask you about where there is a Holiday Inn close to where you live. He is trying to make plans for our October trip. I told him I bet you were in China!!!! I will be in prayer for you. Little snags just make the real prize even better!!!!---not that I'm hoping for any snags on our trip!!! We are officially waiting for TA ourselves!!!! This is just Day 2 to wait, but it's two days closer to our getting it!!! Love and prayers to you. I am SO excited about following your journey!!! Give Hannah hugs from Molly Kate!!!! Love, Vicki :)
