We started this Blog because we have just begun an amazing journey of our own - we are in the process of adopting our first child from China! We are excited and look forward to all that God will teach us along this journey.
We wanted to remember our journey and let everyone know about the process, so here goes ...
We have been praying and talking about adoption since sometime in May 2006. On August 31st we attended an adoption informational meeting in Columbus, GA, hosted by LifeLine Children Services. It was a really moving time, and on the way home that night, we felt like God was leading us to start the process now, with LifeLine. LifeLine had been recommended to us by the daughter of a close friend who had recently adopted a child from China through LifeLine.
So, on Friday, Setptember 1st, we started filling out the 8 page application, which we finished and put in the mail on Monday, September 4th. We got word on Friday, September 8th that our application had been accepted, and that they would be contacting us for the next steps. At present we are awaiting our Dossier Kit, what we are told is a massive 3 ring binder full of paperwork and reading assignments. It should be here the week of the 16th ...
